Young politically committed contemporary artist THE KID (1991), self-taught Dutch-Brazilian, questions social determinism, the thin frontier between innocence and corruption, the equality of chances, or the blurred sentiment of right and wrong in our modern societies. Each iconic work of THE KID exudes an uncanny sense of abandonment stained with inner violence, all the while confronting the audience with the realities of juvenile in justice and the moral responsibility of our societies towards youth. Re-exploring sculpture, painting or drawing with technics of his generation -silicone, tagging or Bic- each work of THE KID is born from a thorough investigation followed by months of interpretation, influenced by the Old European Masters as by the American counter-culture filmmaking. « Behind every exquisite thing, there is something tragic » (Oscar Wilde), this is what the works of THE KID have all in common behind youth and beauty, like a flower is destined to fade, and it seems his goal is to immortalize his subjects in their defining moments, forever caught between innocence and corruption.
In parallel to the presentation of his new Solo Show THE KID : I GO ALONE - PORTRAIT OF A NEW LOST GENERATION (Paintings - Sculptures) by Galerie ALB Anouk Le Bourdiec, at Art Paris Art Fair 2016, in Le Grand Palais Space B17, from March 30 to April 3rd 2016,THE KID has been selected by the ADIAF to be exhibited at the TRIENNALE Of Their Times (Curator Nathalie Ergino), from March 11 to May 8 2016, at the CONTEMPORARY ART INSTITUTE (IAC) and also by the selection committee of DRAWING NOW to be exhibited at OUR FUTURE IS NOW, from March 30 to April 3 2016, at Le Carreau du Temple.
THE KID supports the International Non Governmental Organization Human Rights Watch 2) , which defends Human Rights worldwide, in particular for its fight against any form of social or racial discrimination and inhumane juvenile justice or carceral system.

Jeune artiste plasticien engagé, THE KID (1991), autodidacte néerlandais-brésilien, interroge le déterminisme social, la frontière entre innocence et corruption, l’égalité des chances ou encore la confusion des repères entre bien et mal dans nos sociétés contemporaines. Chacune de ses œuvres dégage un sentiment troublant d’apparent abandon mêlé de violence rentrée, confrontant le public avec la réalité de la délinquance juvénile et la responsabilité morale de nos sociétés vis-à-vis de la jeunesse. Ré-explorant sculpture, peinture ou dessin avec les techniques de sa génération -silicone, tagging ou Bic- chaque œuvre de THE KID naît d'une investigation du réel suivie de plusieurs mois d’interprétation influencée par les grands Maîtres européens comme par le cinéma de contre-culture américain. « Derrière chaque chose exquise, il y a quelque chose de tragique » (Oscar Wilde), c’est ce que toutes les œuvres de THE KID ont en commn derrière l’apparente beauté et jeunesse, ainsi qu’une fleur est destinée à se faner, et son but semble être d’immortaliser ses sujets au moment fatidique de leur existence, capturés pour toujours entre innocence et corruption.

NB : THE KID soutient l’organisation humanitaire Human Rights Watch 2) qui défend les Droits de l’Homme partout dans le monde, en particulier pour son combat contre toute forme de discrimination sociale ou raciale et de système judiciaire ou carcéral inhumain.
